de Jong puts Rangers on transfer red alert

Rangers have received a potential boost in their pursuit of reported target Luuk de Jong. The Light Blues are reportedly interested in the veteran striker, who is out of contract at PSV Eindhoven, where he captained the team and scored 14 league goals in last season’s Eredivisie title win.

De Jong, 34, is free to speak with other clubs, but he has been training with the Dutch champions until a final decision on his future is made.

On Sunday, PSV manager Peter Bosz admitted that the club is no closer to agreeing on a contract extension for the former Barcelona and Newcastle forward, who has yet to decide where he will play next.

According to reports from the Netherlands, the towering striker is one step closer to leaving PSV permanently.

Noni Madueke hurdle to be cleared

Noni Madueke is expected to have a medical with Arsenal today as he finalises his transfer from Chelsea.
