Transfer window hogs attention – but exciting Millwall youngsters showing they can provide homegrown solutions.

AMID the clamour for summer signings, the rolling ticker along the bottom of the screen on Sky Sports News, the countdown to Deadline Day, and the Here we go’s, younger players looking to break through frequently fly under the radar.

Millwall has been relatively quiet on the transfer front this summer, as work continues behind the scenes to bring in new players. The Lions signed Josh Coburn from Middlesbrough for a club record fee, as well as Zak Sturge from Chelsea.

Both were on loan at Millwall last season, and the club was confident of signing them on permanent contracts this summer.

The only ‘new’ player at Calmont Road is Max Crocombe, a 31-year-old custodian who joined from Burton Albion.
