UK’s first state-funded Hindu school in Harrow rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.

Krishna Avanti Primary School in Edgware is enjoying high scores across the board after getting a ‘Outstanding’ rating in all categories during its most recent Ofsted inspection.

The state-funded Hindu-faith school on Camrose Avenue was examined on June 24 and 25, 2025, with the results published in September. Inspectors lauded the school’s great education, good leadership, and supportive learning environment.

The Ofsted assessment praised “an impressive understanding of the school’s vision, ‘to inspire spiritually compassionate changemakers’ among students, staff, parents, carers, and trustees alike.”

This shared knowledge fosters a strong sense of community, belonging, and inclusion. Inspectors also reported that “pupils are proud of their school.”

They are active players in creating such a productive, successful learning environment.” The inspection discovered that students “flourish” in the school, meeting high expectations and performing “exceptionally well” regardless of background or starting place.

The campus was described as “calm and productive,” with students demonstrating courtesy, respect, and a strong sense of responsibility – including leadership responsibilities such as school council, arts council, and ‘eco warriors.’

The assessment also lauded the school’s curriculum, calling it “broad and ambitious,” with a strong emphasis on early literacy and arithmetic, as well as tailored help for students with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The reading curriculum was regarded as “well established and well taught,” and teachers were praised for their “strong subject knowledge” and uniformity in instruction.

Principal Shriti Gadhia stated, “This exceptional outcome is a testament to the dedication, passion, and hard work of our entire school community—our students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.”

“This assessment highlights the high-quality education we deliver and the caring environment we have created, which are consistent with our aim of developing spiritually compassionate changemakers.

The inspection findings suggest that our commitment to effective teaching and learning methodologies, as well as providing a comprehensive, engaging curriculum, has a significant impact on our students’ lives.”

Dr James Biddulph MBE, CEO of Avanti Schools Trust, stated, “I am delighted with Krishna Avanti Primary School’s outstanding Ofsted rating.

This success is due to the dedication of our educators, support personnel, administrators, and site teams, all of whom are led by visionary leaders.

It reflects their persistent dedication to improving every child’s educational experience and cultivating spiritually attuned changemakers.”

The school, which was previously rated ‘Good,’ is a member of the Avanti Schools Trust and the UK’s first state-funded Hindu-faith primary school.
