The father remains in the hospital with life-altering injuries, while the adolescent has been released. Mr Broadhurst, who died at the scene, had no idea who Dawood was, but the other two alleged victims did.

He was arrested on the scene but was transported to the hospital for treatment after “suffering a medical episode,” according to police, who later returned him to prison.

Mr Broadhurst was described as a “dedicated member of our team” by the managing director of his workplace.

Katarina Pohancenikova of Greener Ealing Ltd, which offers Ealing Council with sustainable trash disposal and grounds management services, said in a statement:

“This is a tragic loss. “Wayne was a well-respected and dedicated member of our team who made a real contribution to the work we do and to the residents we serve.”

Dawood arrived in the UK in a lorry in 2020 and applied for asylum, which was granted in 2022, according to the Home Office.
