Water disrupted in town for second time in 10 days

Water disrupted in town for second time in 10 days.

A pipe burst, disrupting a town’s water supply for the second time in 10 days. On Thursday morning, a broken clean water pipe on the B4035, West Bar Street, Banbury, left residents of postcodes OX15, OX16 and OX17 without water or low pressure.

Thames Water stated the water flooding has been stopped and supplies should be restored.

The water company stated that because to the proximity of electric cables to the pipe, the repair would “likely take longer than normal to complete”. It said that once repaired, the road would be cleaned up following the flooding.

The water company apologised for the disturbance and stated that its customer representative and loss adjustor teams were in the region to assist residents affected by flooding.

On 10 September, a pipe burst on neighbouring North Bar in Banbury, releasing water over a busy road and limiting local supply to postcodes OX16 and OX17.
