Waterpark sold by Luton owner in multi-million pound deal days before child’s death.

A Luton businessman has sold his waterpark, with the transaction completed just days before a four-year-old girl died in an incident at the Staffordshire attraction.

On August 4, police were dispatched to Waterworld Aqua Park in response to reports of a critically injured child.

Vethavalli Vasu-Dharma of Bradford died in the hospital shortly afterward. Detective Chief Inspector Lucy Maskew of Staffordshire Police said, “Our thoughts are with the family at this very sad time. We are currently conducting investigations to determine the facts surrounding the incident.

We would like to request that members of the public refrain from speculating in these early stages of the investigation and allow the family to grieve.” A Waterworld spokesperson stated, “It is with great sadness that we learnt of this little girl’s passing this evening.” Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during these extremely difficult times.

Waterworld is in shock and has decided to stay closed tomorrow out of respect for the family.

Waterworld is working closely with the authorities during this difficult time.” Mo Chaudry, the waterpark’s former owner, has revealed that he sold the business just days before the child’s death.

M Investment Group, owned by Luton-born Mo, has increased its net worth to more than £170 million as a result of the sale of the waterpark.

According to Companies House, Mr Chaudry resigned as director on July 31, 1989, after the facility’s opening. Reflecting on the sale, he stated, “Waterworld has been an important part of my life and business journey, and I am proud of everything we have accomplished as a team.

I am now passing the baton to Looping, a world-class operator with the vision and expertise to expand Waterworld even further, ensuring the resort’s bright future.”
