Watford sign Udinese striker Kjerrumgaard on loan.
Watford has signed Danish striker Luca Kjerrumgaard on an initial season-long loan from Udinese.
Kjerrumgaard, 22, joined the Italian club this summer after scoring 22 goals in 29 games for Odense last season, helping them gain promotion to Denmark’s top flight.
He graduated from Odense’s academy but has also played on loan at second-tier Nykobing and Stabaek in Norway. “Luca is a talented player who has performed exceptionally well in Denmark,” Hornets manager Paulo Pezzolano stated, externally.
“Now he has the opportunity to compete in a tough competition like the Championship, giving us more options in attack. “We’re really excited about his signing.”
The Pozzo family owns both Udinese and the Hornets, and they are currently trying to sell the Italian Serie A club after nearly 40 years of involvement. Last season, Watford finished 14th in the Championship and fired head coach Tom Cleverley, who was replaced by Pezzolano.
