Watford unveil Elton John-themed kit to be worn on Saturday.
Watford have unveiled a unique Elton John-themed blue uniform, which they will wear at home against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
The shirt commemorates the start of the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations, with Sir Elton taking over as chairman of his boyhood club in 1976.
It contains various references to Sir Elton’s passion of Watford, most notably the fact that it is blue, the Hornets’ colours when he first began supporting the team.
E* is stitched into the special kit
The hem has the ‘Happy Hornet’ insignia, which was the club’s logo when he became chairman.
The shirt also has ‘E*’ taping down both sides, stars on the collar and sleeve cuffs, and the lyrics to Sir Elton’s ‘Your Son’ embroidered on the back.
The shirt is accompanied by silver shorts with E* taping along the sides.

The players’ shirts, like the Hornets’ other shirts, will include MrQ branding on the front, but the kit will be sold unbranded from the club shop in sizes 7-8 through 4XL.

Sir Elton took acquired Watford in 1976, transforming the club’s fortunes permanently by employing Graham Taylor as manager; the pair oversaw a rise from the Fourth Division to the First Division, complete with European games and an FA Cup final.

He returned to the club in the mid-1990s and rejoined Taylor, resulting in another promotion to the first tier in 1999.
Sir Elton’s fame as one of the world’s most famous singers has never detracted from his love and devotion for Watford FC, who intend to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his chairmanship throughout the 2025/26 season.
