‘We aren’t used to losing’: Hull KR boss Willie Peters launches defiant message following blip.

HULL KR head coach Willie Peters has admitted that losing two games is “not the end of the world” as his side prepares to face Catalans Dragons tomorrow (Saturday).

Rovers lost to Leeds Rhinos two weeks ago before losing to Leigh Leopards, but they remain four points ahead at the top of the Super League table.

And Peters believes that his team must simplify things in order to reverse the losing trend. “Internally and in and around the club, we aren’t used to losing which can be a good thing but it can cause people to get a little nervous and respond where it hasn’t been the norm for us,” Peters told ESPN.

“The only way to turn things around is to simplify your approach.

You return to your strong suit and excel in it. “There have been areas of our game in which we take pride that we have not focused on. The reality is that you must repeat this process every week.

“Can there be reasons and excuses for this? I believe there can be, given what they’ve been through, but we have another game before the players can take a well-deserved break.” The Rovers manager insists that the two-game loss is “a valley” in a season with many “peaks” so far.

“Look at our season and see what we’ve accomplished. If we go out and win at Catalans, we will be first in the Challenge Cup standings going into a week off,” he said.

“We don’t go out to lose, but there are peaks and valleys throughout the season. You have to have ups and downs throughout a season.

“You don’t have a perfect season, but everyone expects us to win every game. Of course, we want to win every game, but we won’t because our competition is so strong. “We’ve lost two games, it’s not the end of the world.”
