‘We certainly have been discussing it’ – Millwall boss addresses club’s growing injury list.

ALEX Neil stated that Millwall has been discussing how to solve the club’s rising injury list.

The Lions were without eight first-team players going into the international break, but Zak Lovelace and Macaulay Langstaff have returned to training.

Alfie Doughty, Casper De Norre, Billy Mitchell, and Femi Azeez all suffered injuries in the first four weeks of the season, while Danny McNamara and Lukas Jensen are out with long-term injuries experienced last season.

Neil was questioned about the club’s injury list by NewsAtDen earlier today. “It’s difficult because when you take each individual injury, they’re for a variety of different reasons, so it’s not a consistent theme,” Neil told me. “I believe some of them are quite unfortunate.

“I believe that when you’re strained in certain areas, some people end up completing more minutes than you would have originally expected. This puts them at an increased risk as well.

“We’re constantly reviewing our processes, how we conduct things, and how we might enhance them.

“Isn’t it just a strain?” Because when we start the season with everyone looking fresh and ready, and you have three or four injuries, especially in that possible one area, you do become stretched.

“So, it isn’t fantastic. We have obviously discussed it, and it is a continuing issue. So let’s see where we go.”
