Watford head coach Paulo Pezzolano has impressed returning loanee Caleb Wiley, who is confident he can lead the club to success this season.
Wiley’s new loan deal from Chelsea was confirmed on Tuesday, after the left-back impressed in 10 appearances at the end of the 2024/25 season. Now, the USA international wants to help owner Gino Pozzo achieve his goal of challenging for promotion this season.
He told the club’s website, “I’ve spoken with Paulo a few times now. “We haven’t done much on the pitch yet, but he seems like a great guy who is enjoyable to be around.

Wiley stated, “There are some very big strikers.” “I’m looking forward to whipping in those balls and putting them directly on their heads.”It’s great to have some new faces who can bring some new ideas, and everyone can contribute in their own way.
“It’s good for this team.” Wiley’s successful campaign could result in another reward, with a spot in the USA squad for the home World Cup next summer on the line. He stated: “The World Cup is undoubtedly a dream of mine.
“I’m going to do whatever it takes to get there, and it all starts with what I’m doing at Watford. “I have set individual goals for myself, but the overall goal is promotion. “That should be in our heads.”
