Woman, 20, arrested and charged after Aberdeen army office daubed in red paint.

Police Scotland announced that a 20-year-old woman has been detained and charged in relation to the incident.

Following the vandalism of an Aberdeen armed forces career office, a woman was apprehended and charged.

The event occurred on Belmont Street on Sunday (March 21) about 11.30 a.m. Police Scotland initiated an investigation into the vandalism shortly after.

They have announced that a 20-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

She is scheduled to appear in Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date. A report has also been filed with the Procurator Fiscal.

According to a statement from Police Scotland, “a 20-year-old woman has been detained and charged after a business was vandalised on Belmont Street in Aberdeen on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

“The woman is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date, and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Prior to his arrest, MP Andrew Bowie called the event “despicable” and “sickening,” adding that “the recruitment office in Aberdeen is where I joined the Royal Navy, so it is close to my heart.”

“Our British armed forces personnel are an inspiration to our nation and are crucial in protecting our country during times of crisis,” he continued.

“They are currently working round the clock to protect our lives and best interests, serving in very challenging circumstances.”
