Wrexham confirm record ‘£10m’ signing of former Premier League striker – as Hollywood-owned club continue summer spree.
Wrexham have confirmed the club record signing of striker Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town.
Broached has signed a four-year contract, returning to the club where he began his career as an academy player.
He is the ninth signing in an open-ended summer for the Welsh club, which hopes to make a serious impression in the Championship after three consecutive promotions.
They had already added Premier League experience with Conor Coady, Kieffer Moore, Danny Ward, and Lewis O’Brien, their previous record signing.
According to ESPN, they have now strengthened their frontline by signing Broadhead for an initial fee of £7.5 million, with an additional £2.5 million in add-ons.
Broadhead won consecutive promotions with Ipswich and helped Sunderland get out of League One in 2021-22.

He stated, ‘It’s been a long time coming, and I’m overjoyed to join the Club. ‘Belief will be the most important thing for us this season.
“We want to bring everyone from North Wales to the STōK Cae Ras to demonstrate their belief in us.” Manager Phil Parkinson said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome Nathan to the Club; he’s a local boy with a strong desire to play for his hometown club.
‘We’re all excited to work with him in the coming seasons.’ Broadhead’s last Championship season was in 2023-24, when he scored 13 goals and assisted four times as Ipswich finished second.
He struggled for consistency in the top flight last season, scoring two goals while in and out of the squad, frequently coming off the bench.
The Welshman, who has 14 caps for his country, began his professional career with Everton but only appeared twice for them.
Instead, he was loaned out to Burton Albion, Sunderland, and Wigan Athletic.

He joins Wrexham’s strike force, which includes Jay Rodriguez, Moore, Jack Marriott, Ollie Palmer, and Ryan Hardie. Wrexham had a typically anarchic start to the season, travelling to Southampton and nearly upsetting the relegated side before losing 2-1 thanks to two stoppage-time goals.
Then, in one of the most dramatic Carabao Cup first round ties in recent years, they defeated Hull City 5-3 on penalties following a 3-3 draw, which was only achieved thanks to two stoppage-time goals in 70 seconds from Palmer. Games.
