Rangers take ‘good step forward’ as Miovski shines

Rangers take ‘good step forward’ as Miovski shines.

“It’s a long way, but it’s not impossible,” Rangers head coach Danny Rohl said of his team’s title hopes before Saturday’s game against Kilmarnock.

Rangers now trail Hearts and Celtic by six points after a comfortable 3-0 victory, with the top two meeting on Sunday and the Edinburgh club having a game in hand.

They are now undefeated in their previous ten Scottish Premiership games and have yet to lose a league game under Rohl’s leadership.

“Rangers weren’t brilliant tonight, but they brought a lot of energy to the game,” ex-striker Billy Dodds told BBC Sportsound.

“For the first time this season, their finishing has been deadly. “It was their quality that won the game in the end, which is something we don’t normally say about Rangers.”

The visitors had 11 attempts at Rugby Park, six of which were on target. Seven came from within the box, and despite only creating one huge chance, they scored three goals.

Rangers had an expected goal of 0.74, which was identical to Kilmarnock’s xG, but Stuart Kettlewell’s team couldn’t find one.

“Today we were clinical, we took our chances unlike Wednesday [against Dundee United in a 2-2 draw],” Rohl claimed on BBC Scotland.
