Bradford City is looking to capitalise on a great first half of the season in January, and they are on the verge of making another deal.

Bradford City are closing in on the loan signing of Crystal Palace youngster Hindolo Mustapha, according to reporter Bobby Manzi.

Bradford City are third in League One, just five points behind leaders Cardiff City and two behind Lincoln City in the final automatic promotion slot.

The Bantams have made a swift start to their January business, signing Louie Sibley on loan from Oxford United.

Another loan transfer appears to be on the way as Crystal Palace youngster Hindolo Mustapha prepares to go, according to reporter Bobby Manzi.

Mustapha played the first part of the season on loan at Bundesliga 2 club 1.FC Nurnberg. However, he made no first-team appearances and was released in December.

After impressing as a junior player with Crystal Palace, he hopes to make his impact in the senior game. Palace will hope Bradford City is the right place for him to start his career.

Teenage midfielder Mustapha is still in the early stages of his development.

He has yet to make a senior appearance, having played only at the junior level with Crystal Palace and Nurnberg’s reserves.

Despite this, he is highly regarded and received interest from Championship Portsmouth in the summer.The curiosity demonstrates how highly the boy is regarded, particularly after manager John Mousinho personally scouted him.

Mustapha shined for Palace’s U18s, scoring five goals and providing 12 assists in 32 appearances before moving up to the U21s this season.

He has continued to perform at the higher level, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 23 games, including goals against senior opponents in the EFL Trophy against Gillingham and Peterborough United.

Mustapha, a three-time Sierra Leone international, plays mostly as a central attacking midfielder. He is also comfortable sliding deeper when necessary and has enjoyed stints out wide during the current season.

Bradford City’s past with Crystal Palace

BCAFC and Palace have developed a positive partnership over the last year. Last season, Tayo Adaramola joined Bradford City on loan for the second half of the season.

He later became an important member of the Bantams’ squad as they won promotion from League Two.

He appeared for the club 16 times and contributed three assists as a full-back. This season, his form earned him a loan transfer to League One side Leyton Orient.

Crystal Palace will be hoping Mustapha has a similar successful loan with Bradford City come January.
