Sunderland and Nottingham Forest Learn Shock Low Fee for Erik ten Hag-Admired Talent

A midfielder with a “cut-price” clause this summer who is praised by former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is being pursued by Sunderland and Nottingham Forest.

The Black Cats are still working behind the scenes as their preseason has already started, and the summer transfer window is still open.

A number of Premier League teams are pursuing a reasonably priced playmaker.

Notable players lately connected to Sunderland include Bilal El Khannouss of Leicester City, Jhon Lucumi of Bologna, and Granit Xhaka of Bayer Leverkusen (32, 27).

Other Premier League teams are also interested in the latter, and they are all aware of his departure price.

Nottingham Forest and Sunderland find out about Bilal El Khannouss’ shockingly low price. TalkSPORT reports that Bilal El Khannouss

has a release clause of £22.5 million. Given the Moroccan’s talent and potential, this sum is not deemed excessive.

The mentioned outlet explained that up to four Premier League clubs want to trigger this “cut-price” clause to sign the player.

We are discussing West Ham, Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Sunderland. But according to the publication, there is genuine interest in the first two clubs listed.

“Sunderland and Nottingham Forest hold a concrete interest in El Khannouss, while Everton, West Ham, and Monaco have made checks,” according to talkSPORT.

El Khannouss is also admired by Erik ten Hag, the current manager of Bayer Leverkusen and a former Manchester United manager.

“Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen manager Erik ten Hag is also a fan of the young star, who is comfortable as both a No.8 and No.10,” they continued.

Thus, this seems to be a four-way fight for the gifted playmaker at the Premier League level. But there is also interest from outside teams, including as Saudi clubs and Bundesliga team Leverkusen.
