Tottenham: Dejan Kulusevski to miss start of new season as Thomas Frank unsure on injury return date.
The midfielder had knee surgery in May.
Thomas Frank acknowledged that Dejan Kulusevski will miss the start of the season, but declined to specify a timetable for the Tottenham Hotspur star’s return.
Kulusevski suffered knee surgery in May, ruling him out of the Europa League final against Manchester United, and has yet to join his teammates for the start of preseason.
Spurs play Reading and Luton away from home to begin their friendly schedule, before heading to Hong Kong and South Korea to complete their preparations for the new season.
Kulusevski has been ruled out of those games and is not expected to return, with Frank stating that the 25-year-old would not be available for the Premier League season opener against Burnley on August 16.
“I don’t like to put a timeline on it,” Frank stated.

Tottenham struggled with injuries last season, with a number of key first-team players missing substantial amounts of time.
Some of those concerns remain, with Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin sidelined and James Maddison only recently returning to part-time training following his own knee injury.
