Leicester City and Swansea City handed significant £2m boost in the hunt for Richard Kone.
As the summer transfer window progresses, the race to sign Richard Kone becomes more intense.
EFL Analysis revealed in March that at least ten clubs were interested in the Wycombe Wanderers striker, and five months later, he is still one of the most sought-after strikers in the EFL.
Swansea City took the lead in the race for the 22-year-old last week, but Middlesbrough, Norwich City, and Leicester City are also interested, with the latter now looking like the most likely destination.
However, the Championship sides have received a significant boost from an update on Kone’s future at Adams Park.
Wycombe Wanderers have lowered the upfront cost they want for Richard Kone
According to BBC Sport, Wycombe appeared to be holding out for £5 million after Swansea made a bid of £4.5 million. However, Ron Walker has reported that the League One side is looking for an initial £3 million.

Add-ons are also sought, with our Chief Football Correspondent Graeme Bailey confirming to EFL Analysis that the Chairboys will consider any offer that begins with £3 million.
Leicester have surpassed Swansea as the favourites for a move, with Kone keen to move to the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes are interested in signing the 22-year-old, regardless of whether Patson Daka stays in the East Midlands, which will be very appealing to the Wycombe star.
Marti Cifuentes will be keen to get a deal sorted quickly
Leicester will face Sheffield Wednesday at home on Sunday afternoon, with Marti Cifuentes’ side heavily favoured due to their opponents’ off-field problems.

Despite cancelling a friendly with Burnley last weekend, the Owls players will not boycott the game, and Foxes fans will be hoping for a strong performance at home.
They will now be hoping to sign Kone as soon as possible in order to complete their promotion ambitions by the end of May, as they look for a long-term Jamie Vardy replacement.
