Graham Alexander believes that maxim has served Bradford City well in their summer recruitment.
Nick Powell, a former Manchester United and Stoke City player, joined the club this week, bringing their total number of signings to double figures. If things go as planned, there may still be room for another.
A slew of newcomers have not only made an impression on the pitch during the club’s unbeaten start to the season in the league and EFL Cup, but they have also been quickly accepted into the dressing room, adding to an already tight group.

While many managers conduct character checks on all prospective signings and speak with rival bosses and players around the circuit, Alexander is one who will always trust his own judgement. “I think it’s important to make up your own mind,” he said afterwards.
“I can ask a player who has played in the same position, and he will say, ‘No, I wouldn’t sign him, he’s terrible.'” “But that means he’ll play.” You don’t need it.
