Baah and Irankunda can play together, says Pezzolano.
Kwadwo Baah and Nestory Irankunda, who split minutes in Watford’s 2-1 win over QPR last week, could both be in Watford’s starting lineup in the future.
For that victory, Paulo Pezzolano switched to a 3-5-2 system, leaving Baah on the bench, as there appeared to be no room for both in that formation. However, the head coach wishes to be versatile and envisions the pair playing on the same team.
He stated, “KB [Baah] is an excellent person, and he understands that there will be times when he comes into the game and finishes the match for us.”
“It’s important for KB to understand that he will start some games. Maybe tomorrow [vs. Swansea].
Irankunda (Image by Alan Cozzi/Watford FC) “At some point, Nestory will be the one who completes the game, and in some games, both will start from the beginning. “The most important thing is that everybody understands we need to do what’s best for the team.”
Irankunda has made an immediate impact since joining from Bayern Munich in July, impressing in the Carabao Cup loss to Norwich and then shining again in the 2-1 win over QPR last Saturday.
Pezzolano stated, “Nestory has adjusted well to the Championship. “He has a lot of room for improvement, but it’s also important that we start looking for ways to put him in the right spots at the right times.
“He will evolve but we also have to figure out how to exploit his qualities in the best possible way.”
