Kelly, 45, did not enter a plea for hiding criminal goods worth £35,000. O’Donoghue, of Pilgrims Lane in Greys, did not enter a plea to one charge each of unlawfully obtaining £226,000 and concealing illegal property worth £116,000. Doherty, of the same location, denied one charge of hiding criminal goods valued at £52,000. The charges concern building work in Colchester.

The case was adjourned and moved to Basildon Crown Court, where the three defendants will appear on Tuesday, October 14.

Bench chair Keith Smith stated, “We have rejected jurisdiction and will refer you to the crown court in Basildon on October 14, 2025 for a pre-trial review.
