A planning proposal has been lodged to transform Dunstable town centre’s former pool hall into a bingo hall. The plan for the ground floor of 23 High Street North, Dunstable (LU6 1HX), formerly home to Shotz and Potz, was received by Central Bedfordshire Council on August 26, 2025. It was legally validated the next day. The scheme’s comment process began on August 27 and will end on October 8, 2025, the earliest date on which the council may issue a decision. A target decision date of October 22, 2025 has been selected. The property is located inside the Dunstable Conservation Area. According to the application forms, no environmental assessments have been submitted, and the structure is not listed. The issue is being handled by planning officer Asif Hussain, who can be reached via email. Mr. B. Cunningham of Weston Road, Aston Clinton, Aylesbury serves as the applicant’s agent. So yet, the council has not received any responses to the consultation. This includes no objections, supporting remarks, or petitions for or against the idea. An officer site visit was conducted on September 8, 2025. The application is currently registered, but no decision has been made. There are no scheduled committee site visits or planning committee meetings. Full details of the proposal are available on Central Bedfordshire Council’s planning portal, where comments can still be filed.
