Primark to revamp Watford High Street shopfront logo

Primark to revamp Watford High Street shopfront logo.

One of Watford High Street’s most recognisable stores is getting a makeover with a new logo.

New signage will be installed outside Harlequin’s Primark after the borough council granted a planning application submitted in July yesterday (September 22).

This includes replacing the steel letters above the main entrance on the high street with white illuminated replacements, installing a panel reading ‘Primark’ by the window on Queens Road instead of existing individual letters, and redesigning the ‘Hong Kong’ and ‘bus stop’ style signs around the outside.

The inscription high on the wall alongside Queens Road will be removed rather than restored. The council recognised that the new signs “will have no more impact on the setting of the nearby heritage sites than those currently in place,” and Hertfordshire County Council had no concerns about the level of illumination introduced.

The designs all include Primark’s newly rebranded logo, which was updated with slightly curvier text and a new colour palette “to work better at a small scale in social and digital” last year.

The “playful update” appears to have spread from the online presence to Watford’s physical store.
