Teenager charged over knife incident at college.
A youngster has been charged after an incident with a knife at a Warwickshire college.
The 17-year-old teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was charged with affray and possessing a bladed or pointed weapon on school or further education grounds, police said.
He was also charged with threatening someone with a weapon at a college after the incident at Royal Leamington Spa College on Tuesday.
Warwickshire Police said the teenager, from Warwick, was scheduled to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to the college at approximately 12:22 BST on the day after receiving allegations of someone armed with a knife.
The institution stated that it was told to go into lockdown following the event, which the force described as “terrifying” for all involved. No one was injured.
Two other youths were detained on suspicion of violent disturbance in connection with the event and freed on bail until the end of November.
According to police, the arrests occurred after a brawl broke out while authorities were there.
