Another week, another Bruno Guimaraes comment following Newcastle United’s dismal away performance.
Harvey Barnes gave Newcastle the lead in the first half, but both individually and as a team, they fell apart in the second half.
In a 3-1 loss at the Gtech, Nick Pope, Dan Burn, and Sven Botman all made mistakes for each of Brentford’s goals, and we didn’t have a single shot on goal at one end.
Bruno has made a brutally honest post on social media, acknowledging that the team is going through “the toughest moment” in his four years at the club. After five losses in our first 11 games, the team is currently in 14th place in the standings and two points outside of the relegation zone.
He has urged the players to “find the chemistry that has guided us all this time until now,” calling for togetherness and promising to return from the break stronger.
Following Sunday’s loss, he posted a message on his personal Instagram page. Bruno stated:
We may be going through one of the most difficult times in our nearly four years at the club. We can’t constantly be at the top, just like in life.
However, we must remain united and never let go of one another’s hands during difficult times.
“The season’s first half didn’t go as planned, and we need to rediscover the chemistry that has led us thus far after the break.” I promise that we, the fans, are as depressed as you are.
Bruno is correct. The players and coaching staff are in dire need of a solution to end this terrible start to our Premier League season, and it feels like the most difficult time of the How era.
Our three victories out of 11 have come against teams ranked 20th, 19th, and 15th in the standings. Our away form is a major concern, and things haven’t been going well in the last third. In recent weeks, our defensive resilience has even been called into question after giving up eight goals in our previous three away games.
A significant response is required, and a solution must be found quickly, beginning on Saturday against Man City.
