Dundee teen in court after Whitfield ‘police chase’ left woman seriously injured

Dundee teen in court after Whitfield ‘police chase’ left woman seriously injured.

Kenzie Kirk, 18, was released on bail following the brief court appearance.

A woman was critically hurt after a teenager led police on a high-speed chase in Dundee before colliding with two cars, authorities claim.

Roads in Whitfield were closed for around six hours after emergency personnel were dispatched to the site of a crash. Prosecutors allege that the driver of a red Kia Rio received significant injuries after being hit by a black Audi A3 at 11.15 a.m. on Monday.

Kenzie Kirk appeared in Dundee Sheriff Court on charges of dangerous driving and attempting to evade punishment.

The 18-year-old is accused of seriously injuring the woman on Whitfield Drive by speeding, ignoring a “keep left” bollard, and driving on the wrong side of the road.

He allegedly failed to negotiate a roundabout appropriately, resulting in a collision with a red Vauxhall Corsa and a Kia Rio.

Kirk allegedly failed to stop for police, drove without L-plates, insurance, or a test certificate, and neglected to disclose his information.

Kirk is accused of fleeing police officers in order to avoid arrest and tamper with the legal process.
