Eastbourne Willingdon Drove temporary traffic lights coming.
Delays are expected as temporary traffic lights are erected on a busy through road.
Balfour Beatty, which works in conjunction with East Sussex County Council to run the county’s roadways service, will soon conduct carriageway studies on Willingdon Drove in Eastbourne.
The company intends to conduct road studies, including trial and core holes, from the Shinewater roundabout to around 20 metres before the Friday Street junction roundabout.

The road will stay open during the renovations, which will be completed in stages.
The temporary traffic signals are scheduled to go into service on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. They will be in operation from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will remain in place until Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Balfour Beatty will post advanced warning signs on-site to advise households of any potential changes to these dates and hours.
The road will stay open with temporary traffic lights in place, and work will be completed in stages to reduce disturbance.

A spokesperson from Balfour Beatty said: “We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network.”
The company has requested that vehicles refrain from parking in limited areas marked with ‘no parking’ signs, as this will delay the work.
They also stated that households and businesses in close proximity to the workplace may face loud disturbances, flashing lights, or reverse sirens, although they will try to keep these to a minimum.
All of the planned work is contingent on ideal weather conditions, and excessive rain may impede progress.
