According to TEAMtalk, Fulham will sign Montpellier goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte as their first summer addition, with more new players expected to follow soon.
With Tom Cairney and Kenny Tete turning down new contracts from Wrexham and Everton, respectively, Marco Silva had been holding off on signing new players in order to retain his core group.
There will be other new faces at Craven Cottage besides 34-year-old French goalkeeper Lecomte, who is joining on a two-year contract to support Bernd Leno.
A deal to sign Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is being hashed out, as we revealed on June 27. Fulham wants a loan return, and the Gunners are considering a permanent departure of £12 million.
Nelson is open to a comeback and is certain an agreement will be reached. Nelson played the first half of the previous season with Fulham before an injury ended his campaign.
A year after the Portuguese midfielder’s £47 million transfer to Bayern Munich, Fulham is hoping to re-sign former favorite Joao Palhinha, but negotiations are not going well.
Tottenham is also interested in Palhinha, but no deal is finalized as the German powerhouses prefer a permanent departure to a temporary one.

Fulham target Chelsea midfielder; full-back and striker also eyed
Even though Tete made a U-turn by turning down an offer from Everton to remain at Fulham, TEAMtalk is aware that the team is still looking for a new full-back.
Milan van Ewijk of Coventry has been considered, but Fulham is unwilling to pay the Championship team’s high asking price.
Ben Johnson, a defender for Ipswich, is also being considered and may be moving, while Ashley Young, a senior free agent, may be going to Portman Road.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a midfielder for Chelsea, is also being pursued by the Cottagers; the Blues are willing to part with him for the right price.
Despite Leeds’ continued interest, Fulham wants to hold onto Rodrigo Muniz, whose offer of up to £32 million has already been turned down.
Leeds, who are trying to bolster up front in the face of uncertainty surrounding Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford, have stated that they are interested in Muniz.
With Middlesbrough and Coventry City keeping an eye on him, Daniel Farke has told Bamford that he is not in his plans. In the meantime, Joseph has expressed his desire to leave Leeds due to connections to Real Betis.
Although Leeds turned down a loan-to-buy approach, it is believed that the Whites will accept his sale if a good offer is made, especially as the Spain Under-21 striker declined to join Farke’s team during their preseason training camp in Germany.
If Leeds agrees to the £50 million asking price and Muniz insists on a departure, Fulham has placed PSV Eindhoven attacker Ricardo Pepi on their wanted list.
