More than 150 people at ‘remembrance ride’ for teenager who died at Seaford station.

Over 150 people turned out over the weekend for a’remembrance ride’ for a teenager who died in Seaford.
Motorcyclists in East Sussex took to the roads of Newhaven and Seaford on Saturday, October 11, in remembrance of Joshua Ingram, who was 16 years old. Joey Clayton-Pynn publicised the event on Facebook and via noticeboards in Seaford and Newhaven, and thanked everyone who attended.

He told the Sussex Express: “We are astounded by the number of people who arrived. We were really surprised by the large turnout of almost 150 persons. Some individuals didn’t know Josh but still came. “It simply demonstrates what our community is about.”

The event page at www.facebook.com/events/658806796841913 characterised Joshua, who lived in Newhaven, as a’sweet, nice, caring young guy’ with a promising future. It began: “He would always make people laugh when he could and be there for you in difficult times.” Motorcyclists and others gathered along McKinlay Way near McDonalds at 11 a.m. on Saturday and rode slowly to Seaford by 11.30 a.m. They then circled the roundabout near Seaford Station and proceeded to the coast.

Police motorcyclists backed the trip and ensured everyone’s safety. Some of those who took part wore sweatshirts with the words ‘Josh forever 16’ and ‘Stop knife crime’. Joshua died on Wednesday, September 10, following reports of a stabbing at Seaford station, according to police, who have begun a murder inquiry.

According to the most recent information from British Transport Police (BTP), two lads, ages 14 and 16, were arrested on the morning of September 19 at residences in Seaford on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Police said the 14-year-old was also arrested on charges of conspiracy to possess a handgun, and that both were later freed on bail.

Police earlier reported that a 16-year-old kid was apprehended on the scene, appeared in court, and was remanded into jail.
