Nolan confirms Northampton did make a bid to sign Ben Perry from Nottingham Forest this summer
Kevin Nolan has confirmed that Cobblers did make an offer to sign Ben Perry from Nottingham Forest earlier this summer.
After joining Town on loan at the end of the January transfer window, the 20-year-old excelled, and Nolan made no secret of his intention to re-sign the determined young midfield player for the 2025–2026 campaign.

Perry signed a three-year contract with League Two Colchester United last week after Cobblers and Forest were unable to reach an agreement on a permanent move. Nolan then moved on to other targets.
Nolan said, “We were interested in Ben.” “Earlier in the summer, we made an offer that we believed was appropriate for the player and the club, but it didn’t meet Forest’s assessment of him, and regrettably, he has now moved on.
“I must say that I’m shocked that he’s fallen so far, but I want the best for him. I had a great time working with him, and he is a wonderful child with a positive attitude. I hope he succeeds next season and achieves his goals.
