Police called to dramatic incident at Farrow & Ball in Hove.
On Wednesday afternoon (8 October), police were summoned to a dramatic situation at the Farrow & Ball paint shop on Western Road in Hove after complaints of a man acting strangely inside.
Officers arrived about 3.25 p.m. after receiving calls from the public reporting a disturbance.
Witnesses reported that the man was shouting, tossing goods, and causing major damage to the interior of the high-end paint store.

The individual refused to follow cops’ directions and began throwing things at them.
During the disturbance, windows were shattered and paint sprayed across the shop floor and into the pavement outside.

Some witnesses claimed hearing what sounded like gunshots, although authorities later confirmed that no firearms were fired. The noise was most likely produced by objects shattering during the struggle.
Following a brief confrontation, cops safely restrained the man. He was transported to the hospital for medical care. There were no injuries recorded among officers, business employees, or members of the public.

A part of Western Road was temporarily stopped as emergency crews dealt with the problem.
The road has since reopened, however the shop remains closed until repairs and cleaning are carried out. Photos from the incident show broken glass and paint covering the shop’s door, with multiple police vehicles stationed outside to secure the area.

The Farrow & Ball store, which is known for its creative paint and wallpaper collections, is anticipated to remain closed till the damage is assessed and repairs are completed.
Local businesses regarded the incident as disturbing, but commended the police’s quick response. The exact circumstances surrounding the man’s actions have not been confirmed, and police say investigations are underway.
