Referee named for crunch Hibs trip to face St Mirren.
Hibernian have learnt who will referee their Scottish Premiership trip to St Mirren this weekend, as the Scottish FA confirmed the refereeing appointments for the next round of league games.
David Dickinson, who has previously overseen Hibs’ 1-0 derby defeat against Hearts and 2-1 triumph at Dundee on the season’s first day, will be in charge for the 5.45pm kick-off at the SMiSA Stadium, aided by Jonathan Bell and Chris Gentles.
However, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) is Andrew Dallas, who is in his second straight game on VAR duties for the Easter Road side, having performed the same position in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Livingston.
Dallas ruled out Kieron Bowie’s 81st-minute goal for an extremely tight offside, and head coach David Grey said afterward: “I was confused by it, by the lines – it maybe needs to be explained where they’ve drawn the lines and why they’ve drawn the lines the way they have, because it looks pretty onside to me.
“The former Premier League referee was also on VAR duty when Martin Boyle’s goal was ruled out for offside in Rangers’ Premier Sports Cup quarter-final defeat, as well as the win at Dens Park.
Alan Mulvanny serves as the assistant VAR. Dickinson has taken charge of 12 games thus far featuring Hibs, with the Easter Road side winning five, drawing two, and losing five.
