Within days, “high-profile” players will join the Blades.

Aston Villa attacker Louie Barry is among the “high-profile” players that Sheffield United boss Ruben Selles anticipates joining the team within the next week.

Last season, the Spaniard worked with Barry at Hull City, where the 22-year-old made an impression with League One team Stockport before joining on loan during the January transfer window.

Following Saturday’s 5-0 preseason victory over Rotherham, Selles stated on BBC Radio Sheffield, “I expect to have a couple of players in the next two to five days.”

“We know Louie very well; he has been there.” We’ll wait and see.

“I want quality, not quantity, to fill a squad. I believe that the young people we are training with will be well-known athletes.

He will have to watch more than simply new players, though. Gus Hamer, a midfielder, has been linked to a move to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, but Selles is opposed to the 28-year-old leaving Bramall Lane.

“I want Gustavo to stay with us.” In terms of performances, play style, quality, and league dominance, I think he has been great for the team,” he added.

“Our primary goal will be to retain him, but we are aware that the market is unstable and things can happen.”
