Wolves’ Bastien Meupiyou to be loaned out to Alverca

According to a report this Friday from L’Equipe, Wolves center-back Bastien Meupiyou, 19, is nearing a season-long loan move to Alverca, a promoted Liga Portugal team. In a €5 million move, the FC Nantes Academy product joined the Premier League team last summer. The contract between Wolves and the France youth international is slated to end in 2029.

Last season, Meupiyou never played with Wolves’ senior team as he recovered from a major knee injury he sustained during his final season in Nantes. Only 10 Premier League 2 games were played by the versatile defender. According to the publication, Meupiyou and Alverca are in advanced negotiations. After finishing in second position during the Liga Portugal 2 season, the team was promoted.
