With the Premier League as an ambitious goal for next season, the Welsh club sought top-tier expertise to aid their promotion push.

According to Eriksen’s agent, Wrexham attempted to sign the midfielder this summer.

After three seasons at Old Trafford, the Denmark international recently left United when his contract expired.

Eriksen, who formerly played for Premier League rivals Tottenham, made 107 games for United, winning both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

The 33-year-old is claimed to have been impressed by Wrexham’s proposal, but wishes to remain in top tier football.

Clubs from Saudi Arabia, the United States, Turkey, and Portugal are alleged to have submitted bids for the 33-year-old.

“Wrexham are really upgrading everything, both on and off the field,” Eriksen’s representative Martin Schoots told the Daily Mail.

“And it is a highly impressive undertaking, as evidenced by the presence of professionals like Michael Williamson, Wrexham’s experienced American CEO.

“But Christian still wants to play in a first-tier competition and is determined to stay in Western Europe.

“There are some contacts going on but it has to suit both sides.”

Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over Wrexham in 2021, the club has seen a spectacular ascent in English football.

The Hollywood couple owns roughly 85 percent of the club and has helped pay its consistent advertising.

Liberato Cacace joined the club from Empoli earlier this month in a £4 million deal, becoming its most expensive signing.

Wrexham also acquired George Thomason from Bolton Wanderers for a reported £1.2 million, while Ryan Hardie joined from Plymouth Argyle.

Wales goalkeepers Danny Ward and Lewis O’Brien have also left Leicester City and Nottingham Forest, respectively.

They will then host Hull City in the first round of the Carabao Cup before meeting West Brom in the league.
