Harrow Town Centre kiosks still closed months on as delays continue.
Several new food booths in Harrow Town Centre remain closed months after they were built, amid ongoing construction around the area.
The flats on St Ann’s Road were discovered in November 2025 as part of larger plans to develop the town centre and promote local businesses. However, despite being in existence for some time, the kiosks are still not open, with fencing, groundwork, and utility work being done around them.
The project cost £466,473, which includes not only the kiosks but also the necessary public realm improvements and utility connections needed to make the units operational.
They are part of a larger initiative supported by the government’s Future High Streets Fund, as well as contributions from the borough’s Community Infrastructure Levy.

The topic has been highlighted multiple times in the Harrow Online Group on Facebook, with postings and comments questioning the delays, the length of time the units have been unoccupied, and the possible impact on the site’s profitability.
Responding in the group, Harrow Council Deputy Leader Marilyn Ashton stated: “It is not the Council’s fault; rather, the utilities have taken much too long to complete the necessary infrastructure upgrades. It’s incredibly annoying, but we’re in their hands on this.”
Harrow Council also stated, “We are waiting for Utilities to finish connecting the electrics and water before we can open.” We expect this to be completed soon, but it is critical that it is done correctly.”
Work is still visible surrounding the kiosks, with areas of the area blocked off while connections are finished.
It is unclear when the kiosks will open.
