To bolster the goalkeeping department, Nathan Broome has joined!
With great pleasure, Bolton Wanderers announces Nathan Broome’s arrival to bolster the Whites’ goalkeeping unit.
After his current contract with Championship club Swansea City came to an end, Broome signed a three-year deal with the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
After training with the Whites during the preseason, including during the training camp in Spain earlier this month, and participating in the team’s warm-up matches thus far, the 23-year-old joins Wanderers’ summer additions.
Following the season-long loan signing of Teddy Sharman-Lowe, an England Under-21 international for Chelsea, Broome becomes the second new goalkeeper to join Steven Schumacher’s team ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Broome, who grew up in Warrington and has been capped by England up to the U18 level, began his career in Manchester City’s development system before playing for Stoke City’s U23 team and earning loan experience at Mickleover Town.
After playing in the League and FA Cups at the beginning of the next season, he joined AFC Wimbledon in January 2022. Toward the end of the 2022–2023 season, he played a few games in League Two, which gave him his first taste of the EFL.
In order to increase competition in their goalkeeping ranks, Swansea then recruited Broome in August 2023. Following a brief loan stint at Port Vale, Broome now has the opportunity to advance his career in the North-West with Wanderers.

Bolton Wanderers’ head coach, Steven Schumacher, stated: “We are thrilled to formally welcome Nathan to the team.
“It has been fantastic for us to have the chance to bring Nathan in on trial over the past few weeks, as it has allowed us to examine him and his character more closely, both on and off the field.
“We are impressed by everything we have seen from Nathan, and we are excited to watch him grow with us over the next three years.”
Regarding his formal Whites signing, Nathan Broome said, “I’m really excited.” Even though it’s been a process, I’m really happy to be here because it’s a great opportunity for me.
Since I know the club well and it’s a relocation closer to home, it’s an obvious choice. It’s been easy for me to settle in because I’ve only been with the guys for a few weeks.
“Being here for the next three years, I’m excited to embark on this journey, and as a club supporter, I want to help the supporters achieve their goals.”
