Reading FC fans encouraged to bring blue and white balloons

Reading FC fans encouraged to bring blue and white balloons.

Reading fans are encouraged to wear blue and white to the club’s first home match of the season on Saturday.

With nearly 9,000 season ticket holders for the 2025/26 League One season and big-spending Huddersfield Town in RG2 for the 12.30 kick-off, a decent crowd is expected at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

The season began in disappointing fashion, with the Royals losing 2-0 to Lincoln City at Sincil Bank on Saturday, but they will be hoping to repeat last season’s opening home match victory over Wigan Athletic.

Co-owners Rob Couhig and Todd Trosclair will be present, and fans are encouraged to bring blue and white shirts as well as blue and white balloons for the occasion. “New season, new owners, and a fresh start,” stated fan group Club 1871.

“This Saturday, we encourage you to wear blue and white and bring blue and white balloons to celebrate the new season. Bring the noise and get behind the guys no matter what. “See you there.” The Reading Supporters Trust [STAR] supported the campaign and urged ‘everyone’ to join in.

Manager Noel Hunt said ahead of the visit of the Terriers, who defeated Leyton Orient 3-0 in their first match on Saturday: “It’s a new era at the club- we all know that.

You’ve been through some difficult times, and we’ve survived them together. You are the ones who have kept us going, and hopefully vice versa. “We are rebuilding the club and the team, and we would love for you all to come and support us.

It will be great to see everyone on Saturday to support the boys. Together, we can accomplish great things. Those who cannot attend the match at the SCL Stadium can watch it live on Sky Sports.
