Bojan Miovski suitors placed on red alert as Girona boss reveals transfer plans

Bojan Miovski suitors placed on red alert as Girona boss reveals transfer plans.

The former Aberdeen striker netted just four times in 21 matches in his debut season in Spain last year.

Bojan Miovski’s long-term future at Girona has been called into question after the La Liga club’s manager confirmed they are looking to sign another striker.

The Macedonia star had a difficult debut season in Spain after joining from Aberdeen for £6.8 million a year ago, scoring only four goals in 21 games across all competitions.

Girona had secured a Champions League spot in the 2023/24 season with a surprise third-place finish in Spain’s top flight, but a massive slump saw them narrowly avoid relegation to Segunda Division last season.

Miovski appeared in four of Girona’s six pre-season games ahead of their La Liga opener against Rayo Vallecano next weekend, but Estadio Deportivo reports that the 26-year-old will likely be moved on this summer. The Pittodrie hero was previously a target for Celtic after scoring 44 goals in two seasons with the Dons, and he has been linked with rivals Rangers, as well as Bundesliga clubs Hamburg and Freiburg.

It comes after Girona head coach Michel revealed that he hopes to sign four more players before the transfer window closes on September 1, including a new centre forward.

He stated, “We need a left-back, a central midfielder, a winger, and a striker.” “Miguel Gutiérrez appears to be leaving, though that is not yet confirmed.

If he leaves, we’ll need a new left back.” Miovski admitted earlier this summer that a decision on his future could be taken away from him, paving the way for a possible departure.

The former MTK Budapest frontman has also hinted at a surprise return to Pittodrie in the future.

Bojan Miovski was reduced to tears after playing his final game for Aberdeen. In an interview with RG.

org, he stated: “My career will most likely last another ten years, and I cannot predict the future, but I do not rule out the possibility of wearing Aberdeen’s shirt again someday. “I was greatly appreciated within the club, and I adore it as well.
I felt great there, and if I ever return, winning a trophy will be at the top of my priority list. “My primary goal for next season is to score as many goals as possible and help my team meet its objectives. I signed a long-term contract last year, but I cannot predict what will happen this summer.

“Although the club considers me a project to develop and I have three years left on my contract, everything is open, and whether I will leave or stay depends on the club.”
