Hunt for suspect after woman raped in park.
Police are looking for information after a woman was raped in a park in East Sussex.
Officers responded to reports of a woman in her twenties being raped in Barrack Hall Park, Bexhill, shortly after 17:30 BST on Monday. Police describe the suspect as a white man wearing a short-sleeved top and trousers.
He is not believed to have known the victim. Anyone who was in or near the park from 16:30 to 17:30 on Monday is asked to contact Sussex Police.
Det Insp James Meanwell stated, “We understand that this incident will cause significant concern in the local community.”
“We want to assure residents that we are working tirelessly, with dedicated patrols in place to provide reassurance and visibility while we conduct an extensive investigation.
“The victim in this investigation will continue to receive the full support of specialist officers.”
