David Sullivan will be furious with Kyle Macaulay over latest £30m West Ham transfer news

If West Ham wants to bolster their team this summer, they don’t have much time.

With the transfer window closing on September 1st, the Hammers will have just over a week to make fresh additions.

It’s obvious that West Ham needs new players after their 3-0 loss to Sunderland, and head of recruiting Kyle Macaulay is running out of time to do so.

Now, considering the most recent information on the London Stadium, David Sullivan will be incensed at Macaulay.

Southampton is expected to turn down Mateus Fernandes’ better offer.

Mateus Fernandes has long been linked to West Ham.

In an otherwise terrible 2024–25 season, the Southampton midfielder was one of the team’s few bright spots.

In order to strengthen his team, Graham Potter is eager to sign the 21-year-old.

The Hammers are now expected to make another offer for Fernandes after their £30 million proposal was turned down, according to The Sun, page 47, August 21.

But according to the rumor, the Championship team will also reject this.

In light of this, Macaulay’s continued pursuit of Fernandes is absurd.

West Ham just does not have the time to pursue the Portuguese player, and it is foolish to make a deal that will be known to be turned down.

Since the Hammers might be concentrating on targets who might sign rather than wasting everyone’s time, Sullivan will understandably be incensed about this.

Marc Casado to join West Ham?

Given that Fernandes’ arrival currently seems doubtful, West Ham might decide to give Marc Casado priority.

Prior to suffering a ligament injury in March of last season, the Barcelona star was a consistent member of the team.

This summer, West Ham made a bid for Casado, and Barcelona wouldn’t stop him from accepting a move elsewhere.

Therefore, the 21-year-old might be the Hammers’ best chance if Potter is looking for a new midfield player.
