Imrân Louza started his three-match suspension and was replaced by Max Alleyne in the only change from the 2-1 win over QPR.
The Hornets stuck with their 5-3-2 shape which saw Alleyne as one of three central defenders, a move which pushed Hector Kyprianou into midfield.

35′ Irankunda opens his Watford account with a stunning free kick into the top corner. It’s exactly what the Hornets deserved after their high-intensity performance and dominance in the midfield battle.
