Domino’s in Bowthorpe given approval for late-night hours.
A pizza takeaway has been granted license to operate into the early hours of the morning.
With Norwich City Council’s agreement, Domino’s in Bowthorpe Main Centre can open every day from 11 a.m. until 5 a.m.
The plan describes how the facility would only be open for deliveries after 11 p.m.
Developers representing DPSK Ltd, the applicant, stated that “signs will also be introduced within the store to remind delivery drivers of their responsibility to keep disturbance to a minimum.”
The Bowthorpe branch of the pizza business has fared better than others in the city, which have been rejected permission to extend opening hours.
A franchise of the chain on Colman Road had its bid to extend its hours to 4 a.m. denied. It applied to Norwich City Council to change a provision that required the firm to close at 11.30pm.
However, a number of neighbours opposed to the plans due to noise concerns, and City Hall denied the application.
DPSK Ltd then approached the planning inspector, who also agreed with the council.
DPSK Ltd then turned to the planning inspector, who also sided with the council.
