The yellow warning includes all of East Lancashire, including Blackburn. According to the Met Office, high and gusty winds are likely to disrupt travel and power.

The Met Office warns that spray and/or big waves are likely to damage several coastal routes, seafronts, and coastal settlements. Some bus and train services may be impacted, with longer journeys and potential delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.

According to Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Stephen Kocher, strong west or southwesterly winds will approach throughout coastal parts of southwest England and Wales on Sunday evening, extending inland and eastwards by Monday morning.

“Gusts of 45-55 mph are expected widely in inland areas, while gusts of 60-70 mph are possible at times along exposed coasts and hills.”
