Man dies in Dundee flat blaze.
Crews spent nearly five hours putting out the fire at Dee Gardens. A man died after emergency services were summoned to a flat fire in Dundee’s Menzieshill district.
Just after 1pm on Saturday afternoon, police and firefighters were dispatched to Dee Gardens in response to reports of a fire.
It took the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service about five hours to extinguish the fire, with members leaving just before 6 p.m. On Sunday, police confirmed that a male was discovered inside the flat and pronounced deceased on the scene.
The man’s age has not been confirmed, but his next of kin is aware.
Officers were still on the street on Sunday afternoon, and an inquiry into what sparked the fire has commenced.

A representative for Police Scotland said: “Around 1.25pm on Saturday, we were informed of a fire at a property in Dundee’s Dee Gardens area. “Emergency services responded, and a male was discovered on the property.
“He was pronounced deceased on the scene, and his next of kin is aware. “A joint investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the fire.”
A representative for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated, “We were alerted at 1.10pm on Saturday to reports of a dwelling fire on Dee Gardens.”
“Operations Control dispatched four appliances to the scene of a three-story residence fire.
