Skipper Simon Murray insists Dundee will get it right as he vows to react after derby dismay.
Murray acknowledges he ‘wasn’t at his best’ against Dundee United. Simon Murray has guaranteed Dundee would respond to their sad derby defeat to Dundee United.
After the international break, the Dark Blues will have time to nurse their wounds before meeting Motherwell next weekend.
There will be no time off for the squad as manager Steven Pressley tries to develop his team.
Murray is certain that the time away from the pitch would benefit the Dark Blues following their 2-0 defeat at home to United.
“It was obviously really disappointing, these are massive games for us as a team and for the club,” said the club captain.
“things wasn’t how we expected things to go, but that’s life, and how you deal with it is what matters now.
“We did not put our stamp on the game and did not create as many opportunities as we would have liked.
“I was maybe a little isolated. I wasn’t doing my best, which was difficult at times.”
Cool heads
Murray believes the squad at Dundee has the quality to right the wrongs of the derby, and the next few weeks will be critical before they return to Premiership action.
He went on to say, “It’s about staying calm, coming back in, and focussing on what needs to be done. “We have a lot of new players, and we’re adjusting to the style we want to play.
“When you get a lot of people in and there’s been a shift at the club, the next two weeks are quite significant.
“There will be little time off. “We have two big home games coming up against Motherwell and Livingston.
“So we need to work hard, be positive, and put our stamp on those games.” “It didn’t click in the Derby, and it’s time to react to it now.
“But it’s early days, only four games in, and we’ve received some praise for being good out of possession and solid.” “We didn’t do that very much versus United.
“The atmosphere is positive, the training is nice, and the team is talented; all we have to do is bring it on game day.
“There’s a lot to work on but it will come.”
