Homeowner speaks out after car ploughs into garden wall on Hartlepool’s Raby Road.

A Hartlepool homeowner has spoken out after a car collided with his garden wall late last night.

The homeowner, who prefers not to be identified, was at a club with his wife when he received a call from his daughter and returned home to see that his garden wall had been damaged.

The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, at Raby Road, near the intersection with Easington Road and Powlett Road.

He said, “I arrived home to three million bricks on my driveway. I had only just strung up my Christmas lights in the bush out front.”

Cleveland Police stated that they were called to Raby Road at 10.45 p.m. on Saturday following a report of a two-vehicle collision.

The homeowner added, “At least we have a garden. If we’d been a street house, it would have passed right through the front window.” He has already contacted his insurance provider and intends to get his garden wall repaired soon.

He remarked, “If someone had been walking down there and been hit, the story would have been different.
