More than 20 homes could be coming to Newhaven Harbour.
New riverfront homes in Newhaven could be on the way after a £1.7 million brownfield plot was listed for sale.
The 1.45-acre area is located on Transit Road in Newhaven, adjacent to the Newhaven Harbour railway station and ferry terminal.
Outline planning approval has already been obtained for a residential development consisting of 17 houses and six flats, all classified as private housing with no affordable units.
The proposed development consists of three-bedroom houses with parking and one-bedroom flats.
The site, located near the River Ouse and opposite Newhaven Marina, currently houses a variety of dilapidated structures, including open storage facilities, warehouse buildings, a former tavern, and temporary cottages. The site adjacent to Newhaven Harbour (Image: Oakley)
The transaction also includes access roads to the future building site.
The site is located in an area of Newhaven that has undergone significant rehabilitation in recent years.
Recent adjacent housing initiatives include 145 units produced on the former Parker Pen site to the north-east and a 74-home development created in partnership with Thakeham Homes and Southern Housing Group to the north.
With good transportation links and a location around 300 metres north-west of Newhaven town centre, the site provides easy access to shops and facilities.
