New outdoor venue to open in Sheffield this summer – and it’s coming just in time for the World Cup.

Earls Yard, Sheffield’s new free-to-enter open-air summer hotspot, will officially open next month.

Earls Yard will be positioned in the center of the city, bringing together street food vendors, live entertainment, DJs, music events and bottomless brunch experiences in a vibrant community-focused environment.

The area, which is set to open on Matilda Street, is intended to be accessible, inclusive, and centred on shared summer activities.

It follows the popularity of similar food and drink destinations in the city centre, such as Cambridge Street Collective, the largest food hall in Europe.

Earls Yard is set to open for the first time on Saturday, June 13, just in time for England’s opening World Cup encounter against Croatia four days later on June 17.

Pieminster, the launch food partner, is the first confirmed vendor, with other street food operators to be revealed in the coming weeks.

A spokeswoman for Earls Yard stated, “We wanted to create a space that brings people together — somewhere you can come down for a drink, watch live sports, meet friends for brunch, or simply enjoy a summer evening outside.” Earls Yard emphasises atmosphere, community, and accessibility.

“More announcements, vendor reveals, and event programming will follow ahead of opening day.”
