Atalanta is looking for a new star striker after selling Mateo Retegui, the top scorer in Serie A last season, to Al-Qadsiah for €80 million (£68 million/$92 million). They did not agree on a fee, but they did consider Jean-Philippe Mateta of Crystal Palace, who has one year left on his contract. Although Leeds United is a fierce rival of Atalanta and is also interested in the striker, CEO Luca Percassi traveled to London to speak with Fulham for Muniz.

WERE YOU AWARED?

Ademola Lookman, a forward for Atalanta, has refused to practice because he is on strike and wants to join Inter after the Bergamo team rejected their attempt to sign him.

FUTURE PLANS FOR ATALANTA AND MUNIZ?

In an attempt to take advantage of Muniz’s wish to relocate to Bergamo in order to play European football the next season, Atalanta will try to bargain with Fulham to reduce the asking price.
